The DEWALT DCS570B is a brushless 20V MAX XR 7-1/4-inch circular saw sold tool-only. Its 7-1/4-inch blade format and manual-stated cut depth make it a different comparison from a compact 6-1/2-inch saw. The right choice depends on the depth and angles of cuts you need, your battery platform and how the saw feels with a battery attached.
Model and package
DEWALT’s Canadian page lists one DCS570 saw, a 7-1/4-inch blade, blade-changing wrench and rafter hook. Battery and charger are sold separately. Confirm the item is DCS570B, not the DCS570P1 kit or another saw with a similar photo.
Cut capacity and design details
The official DCS570 instruction manual states a maximum cut depth of 2-9/16 inches at 90°. This depth is specific to a square cut; beveling changes available depth. Use the manual’s adjustment instructions and verify that the exact blade and workpiece are suitable. A 7-1/4-inch blade alone is not enough information to confirm every cut.
DEWALT describes the saw as cordless and brushless and identifies a 20V MAX battery platform. “20V MAX” is a maximum initial battery voltage label; nominal voltage is 18V. It does not provide a cross-brand performance ranking. See our voltage-label explainer for the broader context.
The model is worth comparing for framing, sheet goods or general wood-cutting only where its documented capacity and blade match the job. If you mainly make smaller cuts and value a compact setup, compare the DCS565B 6-1/2-inch saw too. Neither blade size nor a manufacturer label replaces a manual check or safe cutting setup.
For the broader blade-size decision, use our 6-1/2-inch vs. 7-1/4-inch cordless circular saw guide. It connects cut-depth requirements, bevel cuts and total platform cost to the jobs you expect to do.
Tool-only cost and ownership
Because DCS570B is bare tool, a new platform buyer should include a compatible battery and charger in the total. If you already own DEWALT 20V MAX batteries, verify compatibility and consider the complete saw weight with your pack; capacity and balance can affect practical handling. Also check the seller, warranty eligibility and return policy for the exact Canadian SKU.
Safety and buying checklist
- Check the manual for blade installation, guard operation, depth and bevel setup, and kickback precautions.
- Support the work securely and keep hands clear of the blade path.
- Wait for the blade to stop before setting the saw down.
- Confirm the model suffix and whether a battery, charger or case is included.
- Compare final cost after required accessories, delivery and taxes.
Research-based view: The DCS570B is a tool-only 7-1/4-inch brushless cordless saw whose manual lists 2-9/16-inch maximum cut depth at 90°. That gives a useful starting point for capacity comparisons, not evidence of cut speed, runtime or accuracy in real material. We did not perform hands-on testing.
